Toboggan Creek Fish Hatchery

Travel 12 km west of Smithers on Highway 16, turn off at Evelyn Station Road and you will see the gateway to the hatchery on the right.

The hatchery is the furthest inland hatchery in BC.  The hatchery incubates Coho and Chinook (King in the U.S.) salmon in the gravity-fed water.  The hatchery and ponds make a delightful setting.

You are welcome to enjoy your picnic on the grounds at the Toboggan Creek Fish Hatchery. Toboggan Creek Fish Hatchery is owned by the Salmon Creek Salmon Enhancement Society.

It is open to the public 9 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday.  No admission fee.

The Toboggan Creek Fish Hatchery has a covered, solid wood, picnic table and barbecue, with a generous supply of wood for the fire.
