Nechako Migratory Bird Sanctuary

Located on the Nechako River at Riverside Park, the Migratory Bird Sanctuary is visited by thousands of Canadian Geese as well as Trumpeter Swans, Northern Pintails, Caspian Terns and White Pelicans.

As bird migration occurs during the fall, this is a great time to see the vast numbers of passing bird species. The summer also offers wildlife photographers and bird lovers the sights and sounds of song birds, water fowl, shore birds, and birds of prey.

The Migratory Bird Sanctuary is a perfect place to relax by the water and watch the ebb and flow of nature.
